The founding team of licensed therapists came to LookFar Labs with an initial design for the app.
They were looking for a team who could not only implement their existing designs, but also act as a true tech partner by guiding their product development from concept to market launch.
Solution
This robust MVP is HIPAA compliant and available via iOS and web to start.
Having reliable, two-way communication between devices, regardless of device state, was a challenge. The need for real-time data pushes only upped the ante even further. For example, when a Caller is viewing the list of available therapists, the app needs to dynamically update the view to provide the Caller with real-time changes around therapists’ availability, rates, specialties, etc.
By implementing web sockets and push notifications in tandem, we were able to achieve an almost flawless delivery rate. Through integrations with leading partners the app provides real-time updates, high-quality and stable in-app video calls, a multitude of payment services, HIPAA compliance, and a therapist rating system.

ListenRing breaks down barriers.
They envision a society where individuals from all walks of life have immediate access to qualified mental health professionals and where seeking help for mental well-being is destigmatized and encouraged.
They’ve onboarded 22 therapists in Virginia and are receiving calls daily. Currently, they’re launching in Washington DC, Maryland, New York, Ohio, and Washington state. Once these locations go live, they have another dozen states on deck.
