A Detroit-based company specializing in increasing employee engagement, Sift worked with LookFar to build native iOS and Android apps to complement their existing web application. Sift’s mobile apps—developed in Swift and Java utilizing Sift’s existing web API—allow employees at all levels to search for and connect with their colleagues based on interests, skills, team, and more. LookFar additionally partnered with Sift to improve the company’s internal agile processes through close collaboration in JIRA.
Acrew is a resumeless job marketplace that connects job seekers and employers through brief, first-impression interviews. Through Acrew, job seekers can eliminate the hassle of creating resumes that rarely get read, and employers can save valuable time by vetting initial candidates online. LookFar partnered with Acrew when they were known as GoToInterview and assisted with a full rebrand of the product, as well as development of a web app and companion mobile apps. Acrew has won numerous awards including Steve Case’s Rise of the Rest.
Joieful brings experiences of all kinds (tours, museums, zoos, dining, and more) together with exclusive VIP deals to consumers in major cities and destinations across the nation. Users can book fun, memorable experiences directly from the web as well as at concierge desks in participating hotels. Joieful partnered with LookFar to construct a robust virtual reality app for the Samsung Gear. The final product – built in Unity – allows users to select and enjoy 3D video previews of various experiences. By augmenting Joieful’s existing API, LookFar gave users the ability to both view and book tours through the Joieful app.
The Idea Village has grown New Orleans Entrepreneur Week into one of our city’s premier tech events. The IV team approached LookFar in the summer of 2016 to redesign the event’s website and implement new 3rd party integrations – including software built by Solomon Group – that would streamline their event planning and execution process. Our team tackled the project, which included a complete brand and user experience overhaul optimized for mobile. LookFar’s work also gave the Idea Village team much-needed visibility into NOEW attendee data and other success metrics.
Smoothie King created the original Smoothie Bar in 1973 and has since grown to over 650 locations worldwide. Among Louisiana’s fastest-expanding companies,Smoothie King found their explosive growth hindered by an out of date Point of Sale (POS) and contracted LookFar to facilitate their transition to Revel, a new, iPad-based system. To bridge the gap between Revel’s POS software and Smoothie King’s incompatible inventory management, LookFar created the Recipe Management System – a fully solid-state miniature computer housed inside each Smoothie King location. RMEs are capable of both creating modifiable recipe slips and precisely deducing used ingredients from Smoothie King’s inventory. Following a successful pilot in New Orleans, Smoothie King scaled up for worldwide RME deployment.
Spectrum Interactive developed an interactive multi-media platform that is used by leading organizations in the arts, athletics, and sciences. The platform enables organizations to teach global audiences and monetize their online content. The Tutti Player enables users to watch a performance from multiple video angles, access multiple audio streams, and view images, text and data streams. We worked with Tutti's in-house team to build a native iOS app from the ground-up. The Player has a slick and intuitive user interface (UI) with a complex, easily managed backend management system. The system tracks royalty payments, powers affiliate programs, and tracks analytics.
Pupular is a community of dogs and their humans coming together to socialize and to connect with dog-related brands and services. Through the iOS app, dog parents can arrange playdates for their pup, attend events, and receive discounts from dog-related businesses. Pupular teamed up with LookFar to enhance their product to meet growing demands. LookFar assisted with bug fixes, added a brief onboarding process to increase user engagement, and readied the platform for its next phase of growth.
One of New Orleans’ largest real estate brokerages, Corporate Realty can claim over 60 employees and is active in six states across the South. Among the company’s most important digital assets is their internal lease and sale tracking site, which provides Corporate Realty with valuable insight into individual deals. Initially constructed by an offshore team, the portal was eventually brought to LookFar for improvement; LookFar developers worked to debug the application, improved performance by migrating to a new hosting site, and developed custom reports in .NET in response to client needs.
Scenehound’s mobile app is a nightlife companion that gives users real-time data on crowd sizes at restaurants, bars, and other social hotspots. LookFar performed a migration from Parse servers to AWS, preserving application functionality and allowing Scenehound to operate through Parse’s discontinuation with no negative effect. Scenehound is expanding rapidly into new Southern and Midwestern markets after participating in local accelerator Idea Village’s DIGITALMEDIAx program.
Netchex is a payroll, time and attendance, human resources, and benefits services company. In an effort to scale their product offering and stay competitive, they partnered with us to build the iOS version of their web platform. We worked with existing Netchex developers to build a mobile platform that is completely web-service driven, allowing employers and employees to keep their accounts between their mobile devices and the website in sync.
Louisiana Construction and Industry Self Insurers Fund, LCI, offers competitive workers'
comp rates along with great service and coverage to thousands of small and medium-sized businesses across Louisiana. We have written all of the software that LCI uses to run their day-to-day operations. This software has doubled their revenue while keeping their team nimble. We built portals for their agents and members, as well as for their operations and claims admin, as a way to centralize their data and make it readily accessible. In order for members to pay their bills through the portal, we implemented an e-commerce platform. Additionally, we built a full disaster recovery system with a hot standby, which allows them to be operational from anywhere in the world in the event of a disaster.
Daybrook Fisheries catches and processes menhaden into fishmeal and fish oil products, accounting for up to 40% of the annual U.S. Gulf Menhaden catch. They came to us to better track their fish catch production and vessel inventory. Custom developed applications interface with their existing MAS 200 accounting software to dramatically improve day-to-day operations. Daybrook's most critical production report
takes just minutes to generate, while previously it would take weeks to compile their fish production, warehouse inventory, and sales data.
Unfolded is the exclusive distributor for Annie Sloan products, including the world-famous Chalk Paint® decorative paint for the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. As the company was preparing for an aggressive growth plan in 2014, founder Lisa Rickert approached LookFar for tech expertise to help them scale through technology. At the time, they were managing product distribution for 450 stores, but with a custom WordPress redesign of their website and blog, we were able to improve their onboarding process of stockists (retailers of Chalk Paint®) and better position their new designer program and directory. We built a Python-scripted plugin to sync data captured from the website with a customer relationship management (CRM) backend we implemented, allowing for a seamless and real-time data management process. Now, they manage product distribution for 769 stores.
inforMD Solutions is a company on the forefront of new prescription dispensing technology. Recognizing their rapid growth, they knew they needed better solutions for managing their client base. As a result, we developed a reporting tool to track account information, including costs, for all of their doctors and pharmacies. It also calculates commissions for the sales representatives. The deployment has automated a process that was once extremely manual and allows them to record their data more efficiently.
The Peoples Health New Orleans Jazz Market was built to both celebrate and advance our city's most beloved music. In the spirit of mixing tradition with new technology, Market organizers partnered with LookFar to build out an interactive showcase of the orchestra's digital archives. We accomplished this by creating an installation of monitors connected to and controlled by 8 iPads. Each contained a digital archive of photos, videos, audio, articles, and sheet music from New Orleans' musical past. Under tight time constraints, LookFar built, tested, and implemented a custom-designed visual interface. The end result was a rich multimedia experience for visitors and a fully stable and scalable exhibit for The Jazz Market.
Ave Home is a New Orleans company specializing in the production and sale of high-detail historical furniture. A LookFar team was tasked with implementing a full-suite ERP system including fully integrated modules for accounting, warehouse and inventory management, shipping and receiving, customer account management, and eCommerce. The solution we delivered included a heavily-customized, self-hosted version of Odoo and utilized Docker containers to provide high availability and disaster recoverability. LookFar additionally performed all design work and created training materials for Ave personnel.
A significant R&D project, Tchirp is a communication protocol that transmits data ultrasonically. Similar to projects in development by Google and Qualcomm, Tchirp leverages the basic technology available on your smartphone to send and receive messages through high frequency sound - imperceptible to the human ear.
With the ability to send and decode a unique identifier through sound, Tchirp opens up extensive opportunities for proximity marketing and wireless data transfer. Our goal is release of a free mobile app, which will allow anyone to create a profile and start broadcasting.

ECHO is a mobile app that lets users rediscover, share, and connect with their musical past and the musical past of others by selecting songs or albums that remind them of life events and tagging friends who shared the experience. LookFar developers built the app to integrate with Spotify, Facebook, and music information resource Echo Nest to create a rich, shareable user experience. Echo’s founders originally approached LookFar in the idea stage. The product is currently available in the App Store and on Google Play.
